About Reformer Pilates
The Workout
I’ve never done reformer Pilates before, is that ok?
Absolutely. Our Reformer Pilates sessions judges nobody, no matter your age, shape, size, fitness or strength. Every class and instructor are newbie friendly and designed to allow everyone to work out at their own pace.
I haven’t workout out since before lockdown, should I still join if I’m unfit?
Trainers focus on everyone individually, adjusting the resistance according to your capability. But Wait! Don’t be shocked when your challenged to higher resistance, you want to see results and so do we!
Do I need to bring my own Pilates socks?
Yes, you will need Pilates socks, if you already have a pair, bring them along. However, Pilates socks can be purchased at our front desk. Pilates socks need a grippy sole, so you don’t slip on the reformer.
Do you have water, or should I bring my own?
Yes! Its best to bring your own, however we have water available inside Next Phase Injury Therapy clinic downstairs.

How do I book a class?
Bookings can take place on our website, or via phone to our receptionists. We strongly recommend booking in advance, so you don’t miss out as our classes book out quickly. Payments can be made via booking online or at your next class at our front desk.
What do I wear?
Something comfy that won’t restrict your range of motion. A t-shirt or singlet, with shorts or leggings. You’ll also need some Pilates socks which you can buy at reception (or bring your own). All ladies class are completely private and safe for women who wear the hijab.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive to your first session 10 minutes before the class to fill out a Pilates Waiver Form. If you’re a regular, arrive a few minutes early to store your things as we run right on time.
What do I do when I get there?
If it’s your first class, say hello to whoever is at the front desk and mention you’re new. They’ll get you taken care of.
Something came up. Can I cancel?
If you need to cancel class, please do so at least 24 hours before your class to give someone else the chance to take your spot. If you cancel after that time, there will be a fee.

About Reformer Pilates
Prenatal
Can I do a class if I’m pregnant?
For every woman falling pregnant, it is an individual journey.
Regular exercise assists with enhancing optimum health by challenging the cardiovascular, muscular and skeletal system, but it also impacts our central nervous system, and as a result our mental health, digestion and general wellbeing.
Due to the safe nature of Reformer Pilates it poses no risk to either the mother or the foetus, instead it can be beneficial to both.
Overall, women who commence or continue with exercise during pregnancy may have long term health improvement including decreased risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, depression and so on.
Above all, seek medical approval if there have been previous complications or if you have been classified as high-risk pregnancy.
Simply, in all cases, you must notify the instructor that you are pregnant so that they can modify to suit your individual needs.
About Reformer Pilates
Postnatal
Can I return post-partum?
Generally speaking, 6 weeks is a good time to return to exercise if the new mum feels up to it. This is encouraged if she has had an easy, natural delivery and was fit and healthy throughout her pregnancy.
If she has had a C-section, she will need to wait 6 to 12 weeks depending on how her healing progresses and how she feels.
We do not recommend attending classes prior to 6 weeks post-partum.
In the case where mum has had abdominal separation, it is a good time for them to get assessed by a Physiotherapist at the clinic directly below the studio for a medical clearance.
General recommendations for postnatal exercise
- Begin slowly, Wear a supportive bra, Drink plenty of water before and after exercise, If breastfeeding, breastfeed before exercise, Take care when stretching (due to relaxin still in body)
- Start walking and pelvic floor engagement (even before the 6 week mark dependant on birth), Warning signs to stop exercising, Stop session if unusual pain is experienced, Stop session if vaginal bleeding is more than normal, Avoid excessive fatigue.
